NYC City Council Candidates

I have always been a big believer in the power of local government. And growing up, I was mildly obsessed with the NYC City Council. So I was excited to learn that two of my friends are running for NYC City Council this year. I think they are both great, so check them out and lend some support!

Kevin Kim and I met via law school when I was a law student. He had already graduated but was an active alum who continued to mentor and support other law students. I have spent a lot of time in the past hanging out with Kevin – he has always been level-headed guy who takes the time to think things through. Although he has his beliefs, I have found him to be open minded when considering other people’s positions. He is running in District 19 which includes Auburndale, Bayside, Bay Terrace, Beechhurst, College Point, Flushing North, Malba, Robinswood, Whitestone, and parts of Douglaston and Little Neck.

I think I met PJ Kim initially when we were both in grad school in Boston. Since then, I run across him from time to time working for community causes and other events. I have always been impressed with his genuine interest in engaging with people and government to make things better. He is running in District 1 (yay! my old district when I was in high school) which includes most of Lower Manhattan (Soho, LES, Tribeca, Chinatown, Financial District, Battery Park, etc).
